HANS® Device is the only head and neck restraint Certified by NASCAR, Formula 1, World Rally Championship, A1GP, Champ Car, GP2, Ferrari Challenge, ALMS, GrandAm, Formula BMW and many regional series.

Device, Helmet Mount points, wrench, Set-up guide and CD-ROM are included in the package for easy installation on your helmet. All units are supplied with black padding. Colored padding is available as an accessory.

This device has received approval under SFI standard 38.1. Before we Selected HANS® as the brand we would offer, we studied the market. There are two other brands which have received SFI approval. Click here for the SFI Performance Comparison Results.

Our investigation indicates that one of the competitive brands extends down the spine and appears to be uncomfortable. It also involves straps which are dated and have to be replaced periodically.

The other competitive brand is made up of mostly straps which are dated and have to be replaced every three years.

Safety Update

Rally America - Rally-America has mandated SFI 38.1 licensed devices for all drivers and co-drivers, in all Rally-America events  effective 1/1/08. Per e-mail from Mike Hurst, Technical Director - 3/15/07

NASA - SFI Spec 38.1 Head and Neck Restraint System Recommended for 2007.

NHRA - Head And Neck Restraint System (11/14/06) Effective Jan.1,2007,NHRA will require all competitors in Top Fuel, Funny Car,Pro Stock, Top Alcohol Dragster, and Top Alcohol Funny Car to utilize an SFI Spec 38.1 head and neck restraint system.  Certain classes in Comp (A/D, A/DA, B/D, B/DA, H/D, A/ED, AA/AM, AA/AT, BB/AT, CC/AT, A/AP,A/A, A/AA, B/AA, A/PM,and AA/PM)and any alternative sanctioning organization vehicles that run 200.00 mph or faster must also have a head and neck restraint system meeting SFI Spec 38.1 for the 2007 season.

All Professional Classes and Jet Exhibition Vehicles - HEAD AND NECK RESTRAINT: SFI 38.1 mandatory.

USAC - Effective Jan. 1, 2007, HNRs to SFI 38.1 for all drivers, all regions, all divisions.

New Sport Series - The Professional and Extra models are made of hand layed-up carbon fibre and are hollow to reduce weight. The Sport model uses a new process which involves injection molding the solid carbon fiber frame. Rigorous testing has shown no reduction in strength, however the weight of the Sport Model is just under two pound. The Professional and Extra Models weight just over a pound and about 1.5 pound respectively.
