Sealed beams are designed to be thrown away when the filament burns out. The manufacturer puts as little cost as possible into the lens and reflector. The Hella lamps are designed to last the life of the car and longer. High quality Tempered Glass lenses and silverized polished aluminum reflectors (due to the complex shape required by Free Form Technolongy, the reflector of the Free Form Lamp is plastic with a silver/aluminum reflective coating) create a beam pattern that will increase the available light on the road by 400% on low beam and 200% on high beam. The replaceable bulb allows you the liberty of taking advantage of the latest in bulb technology like Long Life, Xenon and Yellowstar. H4 bulb are rated by wattage High Beam / Low Beam.Installation is no more difficult than changing a sealed beam. A rubber boot is included to protect the rear of the lamp from the weather. These lamps include an adapter to change the location of the ground terminal since some genius decided it was a good idea to make this lamp different from all the rest of the sealed beams and the H4 bulb. Hella 165mm replacement E-Code (ECE) Headlamps are available in H1 high beam and H4 High Beam/Low Beam Combination, and Free Form H4 High Beam/Low Beam Combination. The H4 models are direct replacements for 4562, H4656, H4666, H4668, H6545, H6545BL and HP6545 sealed beams; the H1 models are direct replacements for 4651, H4651, H4651LL, HP4651, H4740 and 5051 sealed beams.

High Beam/Low Beam Combination Headlamp!

The newest Headlamp in our inventory is a Free Form Reflector version of the 165mm H4 High/Low Beam Lamp. This lamp is special for a number of reasons. First it is the first replacement H4 lamp from Hella that is both E-Code (ECE) and DOT compliant. Second, it is the first Hella replacement Headlamp in a standard size offering state-of-the-art Free Form Reflector Technolongy. This increases the efficiency of the 165mm Free Form Headlamp by two-thirds (66.67%) over a standard E-Code 165mm Hella Headlamp using parabolic reflector technology. This focuses even more of the light that the bulb makes with no need of a bulb shield and no fluting in the lens whatsoever. All of the beam shaping and aiming is done with the reflector. The lack of fluting in the lens gives a clean, modern look to this headlamp.
